Second Stage Round 7: Petrochimi - Azad 80-64

The game between Top Four teams took place in Bandar Imam. First ranked host Petrochimi (5-1) defeated their biggest opponent Azad (3-3) 80-64. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Azad managed to win second period 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American swingman James White (201-82, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Australian power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) helped adding 24 points. At the losing side American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) responded with 28 points and 4 assists and Irish-Australian center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place in Group 2 with 5-1 record, which they share with Naft Abadan. Azad at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Chemidor. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
