Sixth-ranked Quimsa (24-27) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (28-22) on Saturday. Olimpico de La Banda managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected easier game. Quimsa trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 29-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 88-89 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Quimsa 39-25 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olimpico de La Banda looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Olimpico de La Banda will meet at home GECR Indalo (#4) in the next round. Quimsa will play against Regatas Corrientes and hope to secure a win.
