Regular Season Round 55: Shimane SM - Kagoshima 98-68

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Shimane Magic (43-9) outscored at home 6th ranked Kagoshima (7-46) 98-68 on Saturday. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Kazuto Sameshima (171-92) responded with 13 points and 8 assists and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) scored 20 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shimane Magic maintains first place with 43-9 record. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 46 games lost. Shimane Magic will face league's second-placed Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
