Regular Season Round 54: Nagoya DD - Osaka Evessa 73-92

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Osaka Evessa (25-27) crushed 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (23-29) in Nagoya 92-73 on Saturday. Osaka Evessa dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Diamond Dolphins' 34. They outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 43-20 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Osaka Evessa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 20 points and forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Osaka Evessa moved-up to second place, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Diamond Dolphins lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 29 games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Diamond Dolphins will play again at home against the league's second-placed Osaka Evessa (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
