Regular Season Round 20: Saitama Bron. - Fukuoka Rizing 75-96

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Saitama Broncos (12-24) were crushed at home by second ranked Fukuoka Rizing (32-4) 96-75 on Saturday. Fukuoka Rizing made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Saitama Broncos turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Saitama Broncos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Point guard Nishi Yutaro (176-92) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Brent Jennings (193-88, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Fukuoka Rizing have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 32-4 record behind leader Kanazawa Sam. Saitama Broncos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 24 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face Otsuka A. (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
