There was no surprise when 13th ranked Sestu (9-21) was outleveled on the road by third ranked Piacenza (22-7) 106-70 on Saturday. Piacenza shot 67.2 percent from the field. Piacenza had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Piacenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (205-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (180-90) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and power forward Mauro Passaretti (198-93) added 18 points in the effort for Sestu. Five Piacenza and four Sestu players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Piacenza. They maintain third place in B with 22-7 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Montegrano. Sestu lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Piacenza will face Faenza (#5) on the road in the next round. Sestu will play against Vicenza (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
