Regular Season Round 20: Tokyo HT - Tokyo Cinq R. 84-93

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tokyo: Tokyo Cinq R. (#5) and Tokyo HT (#3). Tokyo HT was defeated at home 84-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Tokyo Cinq R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward RJ Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tokyo HT. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains fifth position with 14-22 record. Tokyo HT at the other side keeps the third place with 12 games lost. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Saitama Broncos (#7) at home in the next round. Tokyo HT will play against the league's leader Kanazawa Sam. (#1) in Ishikawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
