Regular Season Round 29: Roseto - Piacenza 81-77

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Piacenza (12-17) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Roseto (17-12) 81-77 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Luca Infante (204-82) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-86, college: Siena) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. Roseto maintains sixth place in A2 with 17-12 record. Loser Piacenza keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Roseto will face league's leader Virtus Bologna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piacenza will play against the league's second-placed Treviso Basket (#2) and hope to win that game.
