Regular Season Round 33: Quimper - St Vallier 91-72

Very expected game when 11th ranked Saint Vallier (16-17) was crushed on the road by second ranked Quimper UJAP (23-10) 91-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. Saint Vallier was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimper UJAP forced 20 Saint Vallier turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) stepped up and scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Mathieu Tensorer (198-83) chipped in 10 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Romain Gregoire (201-91) with 15 points and guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) scored 13 points. Quimper UJAP maintains second place with 23-10 record having just three points less than leader Caen. Loser Saint Vallier dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost. Quimper UJAP will face Union Rennes (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint Vallier will play against Vendee Challans (#7) and hope to win that game.
