Regular Season Round 29: Patti - Valmontone 75-71

There was an upset when 3rd placed Valmontone (21-8) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Patti (10-19) 75-71 on Saturday. Patti forced 24 Valmontone turnovers. Forward Luca Bolletta (198-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Antonino Sidoti (182-93) contributed with 22 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Swingman Andrea Martino (195-95) answered with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian power forward Ignacio Ochoa (202-79) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Valmontone. Four Valmontone players scored in double figures. Patti moved-up to twelfth place in B. Loser Valmontone dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Patti will face higher ranked Cefalu (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valmontone will play against Roma S.Azzurra (#14) and hope to win that game.
