Second Stage Round 11: Heffingen - Basket Esch 70-73

Important game to mention about took place in Heffingen. First ranked Basket Esch (17-11) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Heffingen (18-10) 73-70 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in League. Strangely Heffingen outrebounded Basket Esch 44-19 including a 16-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian swingman Marko Latinovic (203-87, college: Erskine) who led the winners and scored 22 points. American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. American power forward Mike Jones (203-83, college: N.Texas) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 22 rebounds and the other American import guard Evrik Gary (191-91, college: Francis Marion) added 25 points respectively for Heffingen in the defeat. Basket Esch maintains first place in League with 17-11 record. Newly promoted Heffingen keeps the second position with ten games lost. Basket Esch will play against league's leader Racing in Luxembourg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heffingen will play on the road against Kordall Steelers in Rodange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
