Regular Season Round 55: Ehime OV - Hiroshima D. 86-74

There was a minor upset in Matsuyama where much higher ranked Dragonflies (41-12) were defeated by fourth ranked Orange Vikings (27-26) 86-74 on Saturday. Orange Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dragonflies' 36 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Orange Vikings had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) helped adding 24 points. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Orange Vikings' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas, agency: Babcock Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona, agency: Babcock Sports) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Orange Vikings maintains fourth place with 27-26 record. Loser Dragonflies keep the second position with 12 games lost. Orange Vikings will face again league's second-placed Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
