Regular Season Round 26: Avenir - Dunkerque 79-52

Leader Avenir delivered the twenty second victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked Dunkerque (6-20) 79-52 in Chartres. The game was mostly controlled by Avenir. Dunkerque managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Avenir dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Dunkerque's 30. American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Joelly Belleka (163-95) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Avenir's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Dace Pierre-Joseph (187-81) scored 23 points. Avenir maintains first position with 22-4 record, which they share with Roche. Dunkerque lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 20 games lost.
