Regular Season Round 55: Kyoto Hannar. - Shiga L-Stars 75-82

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (15-38) defeated on the road 4th placed Kyoto Hannar. (23-30) 82-75 on Sunday. Shiga L-Stars had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 20 points and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws). At the losing side American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toyama Grouses and Yokohama BC. Kyoto Hannar. lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 30 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
