Regular Season Round 55: Nagoya DD - Osaka Evessa 65-66

A very interesting game took place in Nagoya. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (23-30) to second ranked Osaka Evessa (26-27) 66-65 on Sunday evening. Osaka Evessa outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 44-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Seiya Funyu (190-93) added 14 points in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. They maintain second place with 26-27 record having eighteen points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Diamond Dolphins lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with 30 games lost. Osaka Evessa's next round opponent will be Ryukyu GK (#3) in Okinawa, which may be the game of the day.
