Regular Season Round 56: Aomori Watts - Fukushima 78-68

There was a minor upset when second-ranked Fukushima (28-26) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Aomori Watts (24-30) 78-68 on Sunday. Aomori Watts outrebounded Fukushima 41-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aomori Watts maintains fifth position with 24-30 record. Loser Fukushima keeps the second place with 26 games lost. Aomori Watts will face league's leader Gunma on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fukushima will play against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
