Fifth-ranked Yokohama BC (15-38) gave a tough game to second ranked Sanen Neophoenix (29-24) in Hamamatsu on Sunday. Sanen Neophoenix managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sanen Neophoenix players scored in double figures. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) produced 24 points and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sanen Neophoenix maintains second place with 29-24 record having fifteen points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Yokohama BC lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 38 games lost. They share it with Toyama Grouses and Shiga L-Stars. Sanen Neophoenix will meet Toyama Grouses (#5) on the road in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
