Regular Season Round 45: Atenas - Quilmes MP 97-102

Rather predictable result in Cordoba where seventh ranked Quilmes MP (21-26) defeated 9th ranked Atenas (18-28) 102-97 on Wednesday. Atenas trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 38-29 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 97-102 at the end of the game. Quilmes MP looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and guard Eric Flor (186-93) chipped in 27 points and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Roquez Johnson (201-92, college: Mississippi St.) with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Mateo Chiarini (186-98) scored 26 points and 5 assists. Four Quilmes MP and five Atenas players scored in double figures. Quilmes MP maintains seventh place with 21-26 record. Loser Atenas keeps the ninth position with 28 games lost. Quilmes MP will face league's leader San Lorenzo in Almagra in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atenas will play on the road against Boca Juniors (#10) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
