The game in Navolato was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (9-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (6-8). Tijuana Zonkeys did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72. It was a great shooting night for Tijuana Zonkeys especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized American swingman Karim Scott (-88) accounted for 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winning side. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for Garra Canera de Navolato in the defeat. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Garra Canera de Navolato players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys maintains second place with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Hermosillo. Garra Canera de Navolato lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Mazatlan. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Caballeros de Culiacan (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against Pioneros Los Mochis and hopes to get back on the winning track.
