Regular Season Round 28: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel J-M 71-73

Date: April 20, 2017
The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Hapoel Holon (18-10) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (15-13) 73-71. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Hapoel Holon won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists and power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier) responded with 25 points and swingman James Bell (197-92, college: Villanova) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Jerusalem maintains fifth position with 15-13 record, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Hapoel Holon at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. They share the position with Hapoel Eilat. Hapoel Jerusalem is looking forward to face higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (#4) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Holon will play on the road against Maccabi Haifa and is hoping to win this game.
