Regular Season Round 33: FC Barcelona II - Breogan 82-93

Very predictable result in Barcelona where second ranked Leche Rio Breogan (23-10) beat 15th ranked Barca II (12-21) 93-82. It looked good early as Barca II took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leche Rio Breogan had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Barca II was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-93. It was a great shooting night for Leche Rio Breogan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. American center Matt Stainbrook (208-92, college: Xavier, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Argentinian-Italian guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple) accounted for 21 points. Forward Jordi Trias (208-80) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Guyanese-Serbian guard Stefan Peno (198-97) added 19 points respectively for Barca II in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leche Rio Breogan maintains second place with 23-10 record behind leader Gipuzkoa GBC, which they share with Burgos. Barca II at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be Ourense (#8) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Barca II will play against Oviedo CB (#4) and hope to win that game.
