Regular Season Round 33: Melilla - Huesca 79-67

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Magia Huesca (10-23) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (19-14) 79-67. The game was mostly controlled by Melilla Baloncesto. Magia Huesca was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Melilla Baloncesto players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Magia Huesca's players. Point guard Jorge Sanz (188-93) nailed 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and power forward Eduard Gatell (205-89) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bosnian Mirza Bulic (207-92) came up with 24 points and center Alberto Fontet (213-86) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Magia Huesca in the defeat. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Coruna. Magia Huesca lost third consecutive game. Magia Huesca at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. Melilla Baloncesto's next round opponent will be Leyma Basquet (#7) in Coruna. Magia Huesca will play at home against Caceres Basket (#13) and hope to win that game.
