Regular Season Round 8: Albury W.B. - Geelong S. 98-97

A very interesting game took place in Albury. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Geelong Supercats (2-2) to fifth ranked Bandits (2-2) 98-97 in the fight for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in League. Bandits outrebounded Geelong Supercats 46-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward T.J. Robinson (203-89, college: Long Beach St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Deba George (183-85) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) produced 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Four Bandits and five Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Bandits moved-up to second place in League. Bandits' next round opponent will be Chargers (#7) in Hobart where they are favorite. Geelong Supercats will play on the road against Sabres (#4) in Cheltenham and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
