No shocking result in a game when third ranked Burgos (23-10) defeated on the road 13th ranked Caceres Basket (13-20) 79-71. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Caceres Basket won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Caceres Basket 35-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Burgos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) nailed 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Australian forward Brandon Brine (198-91, college: Lethbridge) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American guard JC Fuller (193, college: W.Illinois) added 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) respectively for Caceres Basket in the defeat. Burgos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Breogan. Caceres Basket lost fourth consecutive game. Caceres Basket at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Burgos' next round opponent will be Palencia Baloncesto (#5) at home. Caceres Basket will play against Magia Huesca (#16) and hope to win that game.
