We should mention about the upset which took place in Lleida, where 7th ranked Ourense (18-15) lost to tenth ranked Lleida Basquet (17-16) in a road game 66-78 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 34-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Lleida Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Ourense's players. American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) stepped up and scored 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Marc Marti (204-97) chipped in 20 points. Lleida Basquet's coach Borja Comenge used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was center Francisco Guerra (214-92) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lleida Basquet maintains tenth place with 17-16 record. Loser Ourense dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Palma. Lleida Basquet will meet Cocinas.com (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ourense will play against the league's second-placed Leche Rio Breogan (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
