The game in Guasave was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (10-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Frayles de Guasave (7-8). Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to secure a 7-point victory 107-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Frayles de Guasave's 48 and made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 33-21 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Puerto Rican point guard Nick Leon (181-88, college: St.Peter's) supported him with 21 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 35 points (!!!) by American forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Frayles de Guasave. His fellow American import forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 28 points and 4 assists for lost side. Five Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaymas. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will have a break next round. Frayles de Guasave will play again at home against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
