Regular Season Round 28: Psychiko - Holargos 66-72

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Holargos (15-13) defeated 9th ranked Psychiko (13-15) in Athens 72-66 on Saturday. Holargos forced 19 Psychiko turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Holargos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The winners were led by center Apostolos Koutroulias (206-76) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Nikos Angelopoulos (205-84, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Holargos players scored in double figures. Even 8 points, 12 assists and 4 steals by point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) did not help to save the game for Psychiko. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (195-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Psychiko's coach Nikos Remendelas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Holargos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ethnikos. Psychiko lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Holargos will meet at home bottom-ranked Pagrati (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Psychiko will play against Arkadikos (#11) in Arkadia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
