Regular Season Round 56: Akita NH - Tochigi Brex 76-85

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Akita Happinets (17-37) were defeated at home by first ranked Tochigi Brex (43-11) 85-76 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex maintains first position with 43-11 record. Loser Akita Happinets keep the fifth place with 37 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Akita Happinets will play again at home against the league's leader Tochigi Brex (#1) and hope to win that game.
