Regular Season Round 28: Estela - TAKE Tolosa 89-60

Date: April 22, 2017
Very predictable result when first ranked Estela (22-3) rolled over 12th ranked TAKE Tolosa (7-18) in Santander 89-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Estela led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Estela outrebounded TAKE Tolosa 44-22 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. TAKE Tolosa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Jon Pena (183-97) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Julio De-Assis (200-92) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Karim Birawi (188-92) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Benat Azaldegi (196-94) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for TAKE Tolosa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estela have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-A with 22-3 record. Loser TAKE Tolosa keeps the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Estela will face Venta de Banos (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. TAKE Tolosa will play against Valladolid Univ. and hope to win that game.
