Regular Season Round 6: SW Slammers - Mandurah M. 55-86

No shocking result in a game in Bunbury where top-ranked Magic (5-0) smashed 9th ranked Slammers (2-4) 86-55 on Saturday. Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 28. They outrebounded Slammers 49-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Casey Mihovilovich (173-82) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Magic moved-up to second place in League. Loser Slammers keep the ninth position with four games lost. Magic will face Wanneroo (#6) in Joondalup in the next round. Slammers will play on the road against Tigers in Willeton and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
