Regular Season Round 6: Sturt S. - N.Adelaide R. 50-60

Date: April 22, 2017
Everything could happen in Pasadena at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Rockets and 9th ranked Sabres had identical 2-1 record. But Sabres were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Adelaide 60-50 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in League. Rockets made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Norrisha Victrum (165-93, college: Marshall) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Opal Mader (-97) chipped in 19 points. Worth to mention Victrum played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Caroline Burgess (176-82) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and New Zealand guard Jordan Hunter (172-90, college: SE Missouri St.) added 8 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Rockets (3-1) keep a position of League leader. Loser Sabres dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Rockets will face Lions (#10) in Gawler in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sabres will play on the road against Mavericks in Mt. Barker and hope to win that game.
