Not a big story in a game in Marden where 8th ranked Bearcats (1-3) were defeated by fifth ranked Flames (3-1) 78-72 on Saturday. Flames forced 19 Bearcats turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Bearcats were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Jessica Good (186-94) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 steals. Shannon Mckay (-90) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Five Flames players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ieva Nagy (177-91, college: Troy) who recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Sky Langenbrinck (-91) added 20 points respectively. Bearcats' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Flames moved-up to third place in League. Loser Bearcats dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Flames will face Warriors (#6) in Flinders Park in the next round. Bearcats will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tigers in Morphett Vale and hope to win that game.
