Regular Season Round 6: Eastern M. - Forestville E. 84-81

A very interesting game took place in Mt. Barker. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Eagles (2-2) to first ranked Mavericks (3-1) 84-81 in the fight for the fourth place. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Guard Alex Wilson (174-94) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Kedeisha Kartinyeri supported her with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Mavericks players scored in double figures. Mavericks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 32 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by Samantha Defrancesco did not help to save the game for Eagles. Forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) added 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Despite that victory Mavericks went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Eagles at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Mavericks' next round opponent will be Sabres (#7) in Pasadena. Eagles will play at home against Panthers and hope to win that game.
