Rather predictable result when third ranked Buccaneers (6-1) won against 7th ranked Hawks (3-4) in Floreat 88-70 on Saturday. Buccaneers forced 20 Hawks turnovers. Guard Jackson Hussey (190-92, college: Pikeville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Buccaneers players scored in double figures. Guard Ryan Smith (192-92) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American point guard Robert Waters (185-93, college: Wayland Baptist) added 13 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hawks. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Buccaneers keep a position of League leader. Loser Hawks dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Buccaneers will face Suns (#10) in Kalamunda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hawks will play on the road against the league's second-placed Redbacks in Northbridge and hope to win that game.
