Everything went according to plan when second ranked Redbacks (6-1) defeated 13th ranked Giants (1-5) in Kalgoorlie 91-83 on Saturday. Redbacks made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Benjamin Smith (192-89) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward JB Pillard (201, college: Cent.Washington) added 11 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Giants. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giants' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Redbacks maintains second position in League with 6-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Geraldton B. Loser Giants keep the thirteenth place with five games lost.
