Regular Season Round 28: Real Canoe - Guadalajara 76-68

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Real Canoe (21-7) defeated 9th ranked CB Guadalajara (13-13) in Madrid 76-68 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CB Guadalajara won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Canoe forced 19 CB Guadalajara turnovers. CB Guadalajara was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Ander Martinez (199-95, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Real Canoe's coach Miguel Angel Aranzabal used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American CJ Dunston (196-94, college: Lancaster Bible) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for CB Guadalajara. Real Canoe moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Casvi. Newly promoted CB Guadalajara keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Real Canoe will face Gran Canaria B (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. CB Guadalajara will play against Rivas and hope to win that game.
