Regular Season Round 28: Cartagena - UCAM Murcia II 76-56

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th ranked UCAM Murcia II's (6-10) road loss to third ranked Cartagena (8-8) 56-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cartagena. UCAM Murcia II was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UCAM Murcia II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Stephon Carter (193-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Antonio Ferragut (196-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Cartagena's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) replied with 5 points and 11 rebounds and center Pablo-Jose Sanchez (208-93) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Murcia II. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cartagena have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group E Clasif. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Cartagena will have a break next round.
