Regular Season Round 8: Norwood F. - W.Adelaide B. 95-88

There was no surprise when 9th ranked West Adelaide Bearcats (2-2) lost to seventh ranked Norwood Flames (2-2) in Marden 88-95 on Saturday. Norwood Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by West Adelaide Bearcats' players. American forward Jerrell Sanders (198, college: Ferris St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Andrew Webber (180-85, college: Armstr.Atlantic) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga) replied with 30 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import forward Harold Ridgeway (203, college: Midland) added 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for West Adelaide Bearcats. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Norwood Flames moved-up to fourth place in League. Norwood Flames will face Woodville Warriors (#9) in Flinders Park in the next round where they are favorite. West Adelaide Bearcats will play on the road against Noarlunga City Southern Tigers in Morphett Vale and hope to win that game.
