Regular Season Round 28: Loon Lions - Amazone 85-44

Bottom-ranked Amazone (0-28) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-44 loss to second ranked Loon Lions (20-8) in Landsmeer. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Amazone's 32. Loon Lions forced 26 Amazone turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Amazone's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Charlotte van-Kleef (190-96) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Fieke Ligthart (185-90) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Loon Lions players scored in double figures. Coach Molly McDowell's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Danielle Pruijs (184-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Renee Hoveling (186-94) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Amazone. Loon Lions have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 20-8 record having six points less than leader Lekdetec.nl. Amazone at the other side still closes the standings.
