Regular Season Round 57: Shiga L-Stars - SeaHorses 70-65

Very important is a road loss of first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (44-11) against sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (16-39) on Sunday night. Visiting Aishin Sea Horses were defeated by Shiga L-Stars in a tough game in Shiga 65-70. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Aishin Sea Horses. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 19 points respectively for Aishin Sea Horses in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toyama Grouses and Yokohama BC. Loser Aishin Sea Horses still keep top position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex. Shiga L-Stars will meet at home Diamond Dolphins (#5) in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round.
