Regular Season Round 58: Nishinomiya S. - Shinshu BW 68-79

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Nishinomiya S. (40-16) against sixth ranked Shinshu BW (14-42) on Sunday night. Host Nishinomiya S. was defeated by Shinshu BW in Hyogo 79-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Nishinomiya S.. Shinshu BW had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch power forward Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Takei Hiroaki (182-91) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Australian center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Nishinomiya S.Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW maintains sixth position with 14-42 record. Nishinomiya S. at the other side still keeps top place with 16 games lost. Shinshu BW's next round opponent will be higher ranked Tokyo Z (#3) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Nishinomiya S. will play against the league's second-placed Toyotsu FE in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
