Regular Season Round 58: Gunma - Aomori Watts 78-85

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Gunma (36-20) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Aomori Watts (25-31) 85-78. American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Hirotaka Kondo (187-82) scored 17 points. Gunma's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aomori Watts maintains fifth position with 25-31 record. Gunma at the other side still keeps top place with 20 games lost. Aomori Watts are looking forward to face higher ranked Yamagata (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gunma will play against Iwate Big Bulls and is hoping to win this game.
