The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Hawks' (2-4) road victory over 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (1-6) 64-54 on Sunday. They outrebounded Sutherland Sharks 52-38 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Scott Hunter orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Tyson Demos (191-88) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dejan Marjanovic (183) replied with 18 points and Robert Simonovski added 5 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Sutherland Sharks. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hawks moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Sutherland Sharks keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Hawks will face league's leader Spiders in Hornsby in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sutherland Sharks will play at home against the league's second-placed Maitland Mustangs (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
