The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked Senators' (5-2) home loss to top-ranked Hawks (6-0) 62-79 on Monday. The game without a history. Hawks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Senators' 26. Hawks forced 22 Senators turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Sarah Donovan (188-93) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Amber Land (188) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jasmine Martin (170-93, college: Quinnipiac) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hawks keep a position of League leader. Loser Senators keep the third place with two games lost. Hawks will face Redbacks (#5) in Northbridge in the next round.
