There was no surprise in Parana where 10th ranked Echague (8-42) was defeated by second ranked Ferrocarril (33-18) 76-72 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Echague won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Jose-Ignacio Alessio (203-87) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Matias Nocedal (192-90) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ferrocarril maintains second position with 33-18 record despite having the same number of points like the leader San Lorenzo. Echague lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 42 games lost. Ferrocarril will face Olimpico de La Banda (#4) at home in the next round. Echague will play against Hispano Am. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
