Regular Season Round 8: Kalamunda E.S. - Willetton T. 79-103
Date: April 25, 2017
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Tigers (5-2) rolled over 10th ranked Suns (3-7) in Kalamunda 103-79 on Tuesday. Tigers forced 20 Suns turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Suns were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) replied with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Kerrod Horn (186-93) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Suns. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Suns keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Tigers will face Slammers (#11) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play on the road against the league's leader Buccaneers in Wonthella and hope to win that game.
