Regular Season Round 29: Hyeres-Toulon - Strasbourg 68-78

Date: April 25, 2017
There was no surprise when 13th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (10-19) lost at home to fourth ranked Strasbourg IG (20-9) 78-68. The game was mostly controlled by Strasbourg IG. Hyeres-Toulon was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international guard Paul Lacombe (195-90, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Jeremy Leloup (202-87) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Strasbourg IG's coach Vincent Collet allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Alexandre Chassang (204-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Strasbourg IG. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Nanterre. Hyeres-Toulon at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Dijon. Strasbourg IG will play against JSF Nanterre (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hyeres-Toulon will play against the league's second-placed Chalon/Saor (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
