Regular Season Round 32: Spirou - Antwerp 83-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Charleroi between second ranked Antwerp Giants (20-12) and seventh ranked Spirou Charleroi (15-17) on Wednesday night. Antwerp Giants were defeated by Spirou Charleroi in a tough game on the road 78-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Antwerp Giants. Spirou Charleroi made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Antwerp Giants turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard DJ Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who added 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Spirou Charleroi's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 16 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Spirou Charleroi maintains seventh position with 15-17 record, which they share with Mons-Hainaut. Antwerp Giants at the other side keep the second place with 12 games lost. Spirou Charleroi is looking forward to face Leuven Bears (#9) at home in the next round. Antwerp Giants will play against Basic-Fit Brussels (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
