There was no surprise when 10th ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (4-13) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (7-11) 103-98. The hosts were already 15 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 44-31 last quarter charge of Aguilas Doradas de Durango cut the lead to 103-98 at the end of the game. Pioneros Los Mochis dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Aguilas Doradas de Durango's 40. Pioneros Los Mochis players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Terrance Motley (201-91, college: Sam Houston St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) accounted for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American forward Omar Richards (203-92, college: NW Christian) came up with 25 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) added 25 points respectively for Aguilas Doradas de Durango in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Aguilas Doradas de Durango's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Pioneros Los Mochis. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Navolato. Aguilas Doradas de Durango lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis' next round opponent will be Caballeros de Culiacan (#9) on the road. Aguilas Doradas de Durango will play against Garra Canera de Navolato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
