There was no surprise when 10th ranked Echague (8-43) lost to fifth ranked Argentino (26-25) in Parana 74-78 on Thursday. Argentino dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Echague's 32. They outrebounded Echague 32-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds. Swingman Emiliano Basabe (193-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton) answered with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 14 points in the effort for Echague. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Argentino moved-up to fourth place. Echague lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 43 games lost. Argentino will face higher ranked Olimpico de La Banda (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
